Daily Bread Food Bank is Grand Prize Winner in Axon's 20,000th PC Celebration

CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -March 15, 2000 - Axon Computers, the world's largest nonprofit computer manufacturing operation if its kind, announced today that the Daily Bread Food Bank of South Florida was the grand prizewinner in the recent promotion regarding production of the 20,000th Axon Computer on the Abilities campus. Daily Bread Executive Director Dave Krepcho was very pleased that his request for information regarding Axon Computers resulted in winning a robust Axon Pentium III 600 Mhz computer and 19-inch monitor. He said, "When I saw the Axon newsletter full of testimonials about the quality of their machines, I was intrigued and knew we would like to buy technology from them since, like us, their mission is to help people". Denis Eirikis, Director of Marketing for Axon Computers, said, "We are especially pleased with the great interest that sister nonprofit organizations like Daily Bread, the Red Cross, United Way, ARC, the Salvation Army, Jewish Family Services and others have expressed in Axon. The Daily Bread Food Bank is a nonprofit association that distributes more than 1 million pounds of food per month to 800 agencies in Florida. The Axon Computer will be deployed at their Fort Lauderdale location. Axon Computers is located at the Abilities of Florida campus in Clearwater Florida. Since Eleanor Roosevelt cut the ribbon opening Abilities more than 40 years ago, Abilities has helped over 100,000 people with disabilities achieve employment, equality of opportunity, full participation, independent living, and economic self-sufficiency. Recently, workers with disabilities made the 20,000th Axon PC, making Axon the world's largest computer manufacturing operation of its kind.
